31-year-old man wanted in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Keambra Bibbs, who was found dead in a Main Street parking lot

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — An arrest warrant has been issued for a 31-year-old man accused of killing a woman who was found dead in a parking lot on Main Street near the medical center in September.

Cerdarian Thompson is accused of shooting and killing 22-year-old Keambra Bibbs.

Now the Houston Police Department says investigators need your help finding him.

Bibbs’ family spoke exclusively to ABC13 as they seek justice for their loved one’s death.

With nearly two months to go, Helen Lewis says things aren’t getting any easier as she grieves the loss of the 22-year-old.

Lewis, the victim’s mother, told ABC13 she is pleased that investigators have now identified a suspect and charges have been filed against him.

“I’ll feel more comfortable when he’s actually incarcerated,” Lewis said.

Lewis said losing a child is a pain no parent should have to endure.

“You can’t run and you can’t hide,” Lewis said as a message to Thompson. “I ask you as a begging mother whose child you took from me for the rest of your life. Why are you running away? Why are you afraid?”

Bibbs was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds Sept. 4 in a parking lot on Main Street near the medical center, police said.

Lewis said her daughter knew the accused killer and believed he died over money.

“You dumped his body. He probably could have made it. You know what I’m saying? So justice needs to be done,” Lewis said.

Court records show Thompson has a pending case for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, accused of shooting and nearly killing a different woman in 2022.

On Friday afternoon, a woman told ABC13 she believes Thompson is a danger to the community and hopes he is found.
