Woman Died After Returning to Moving Plane Propeller While Taking Photos

Authorities in Kansas announced that a woman died after hitting the propeller of a plane while taking photos.

According to local sources, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said 37-year-old Amanda Gallagher was photographed turning her back to a moving propeller at the Air Capital Drop Zone in Derby on Saturday, Oct. 26. CBS affiliate KWCH and local ABC affiliate KAKE.

Gallagher was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital, where he later died. NBC affiliate KSNW reported.

More than $8,400 in donations were collected via GoFundMe Assisting Gallagher’s family with funeral expenses following the fatal incident.

Abbey Charboneau, who organized the online fundraiser, said Gallagher died “doing what he loved, which was skydiving and taking photographs.”

“Amanda Gallagher was kind, adventurous, creative, and beautiful inside and out,” Charboneau wrote in the description of the fundraiser. “She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed.”
