CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A new beer bar moving into the building that was once Taft’s Beer House will open its doors to the public on Friday, Nov. 22.

Co-owned by Dennis Kramer-Wine and Alexandra Nowell, Mellotone Beer Project is a towering brewpub with a place for modern American fare.

According to a press release from 3CDC, the new brewpub’s scratch kitchen will serve a menu with seasonally changing options using locally sourced ingredients. The co-owners even partnered with Brendan Martin, formerly of Boca Restaurant Group, to create the menu.

“We want Mellotone to be a place for everyone, a place where you can see what you love on the menu and feel welcome when you walk in the door, whether you’re celebrating something or just stopping by to relax and grab a drink,” Nowell said.

1429 Race St. Located at , Mellotone Beer Project’s home is located inside a renovated 12,345-square-foot church.

The brewpub’s main floor will be the restaurant, with a bar called Undertone on the bottom floor, which will feature a small stage for live musical entertainment.

The top floor features an indoor beer garden with seating, pool tables and darts on a first-come, first-served basis.

Mellotone did a test run during BLINK and says it was successful.

“If BLINK was any indication of how Mellotone will bring this space to life, we have a lot to look forward to,” said Lindzie Gunnels, Director of Commercial Leasing at 3CDC. “This iconic Race Street location has so much potential, and we believe Mellotone will serve as a catalyst for future growth along this Race Street corridor.”

The doors will officially open at 17:00 on Friday and will remain open until midnight. The Kitchen will close at 23:00 and Undertone will close at 01:00.

Mellotone’s normal operating hours are as follows:

• Monday: Closed
• Tuesday – Thursday: 17:00 – 23:00 Kitchen closes at 22:00
• Friday and Saturday: 17:00 to midnight. Kitchen closes at 23:00
• Sunday: 17.00-23.00 Kitchen closes at 22.00
