Coronation Street‘s Chesney Brown is set to turn on himself in the coming scenes.

In episodes to air on ITV next week, a van driver steals Chesney’s parking space as he pulls into the Freshco car park. Enraged, Chesney blocks the front of the van, gets out of his car and drives off.

Later in the week, a dejected Chesney surveys the damage to his car after his risky plan goes awry and the van driver takes revenge.

Suddenly a pickup truck screeches past him, nearly knocking him to the ground. Chesney is shocked to learn that it is the same van in the parking lot.

Will this angry driver return and has Chesney worsened his already dire financial situation by having to pay for repairs to further damage his car?

Elsewhere on the pavements next week, Leanne’s dad and Chesney’s stepdad Les Battersby died suddenly while at work.

The character played by Bruce Jones between 1997 and 2007. will be killed off-screen.

As Nick prepares to finally tell Leanne the truth about his relationship with Toyah, a police officer arrives at the flat to break the sad news that Les has died. Leanne rushes to meet Toyah and the sisters are united in their sadness for Les, but it is soon revealed that Toyah already knows this.

Toyah is forced to explain that Nick called her to tell her about Les before Leanne arrived, but Leanne is confused and demands to know why. When Toyah’s excuse doesn’t hold water, a suspicious Leanne hacks into Nick’s laptop, retrieves the details of the Tenerife booking and calls the hotel. What will he discover?
