Narayanpet: In another case of food poisoning in government schools in the state, around 30 students of Zilla Parishad High School in Maganoor mandal fell ill after eating lunch in the school on Wednesday afternoon.

However, District Medical and Health Officer Dr. K Sowbhagyalaxmi claimed that only 15 students were affected by food poisoning. He stated that except for four children, the condition of the others was stable. ”


The four students, whose condition was serious, were shifted to Mahabubnagar Government Hospital for better treatment. “Initially, the female student’s condition was a little serious, but she is now responding to treatment and her condition is stable,” he said.

According to the information obtained, students complained of abdominal pain and vomiting after eating the lunch provided at school. School staff and teachers noticed the students vomiting and took them to the local hospital.

Some were treated and sent home. About 9 students were referred to Maktal State Hospital for better treatment. Doctors said that the 8th grade student’s condition was critical. It was learned that the majority of students complained of vomiting and diarrhea.

In the school where a total of 450 students were educated, approximately 30 of them complained of food poisoning. Rice, sambar and eggs were served to the students at 1pm as part of the lunch and immediately after eating the meal, a few students started complaining of stomach ache.

Parents of the students claimed that the students fainted due to severe vomiting after eating poor quality eggs and other food offered to them. Parents claimed that students at the school had been given poor quality food for days.

Learning about the incident, Makthal MLA Vakiti Srihari visited the students receiving treatment at Makthal Government Hospital. He warned that strict sanctions would be imposed on those responsible for the incident.

The families of the students were notified after they were hospitalized, causing them to panic and worry. This is the latest in a series of food poisoning cases at government-run educational institutions in the state.
