Some students under the banner of ‘Anti-Fascism Student People’ held a coffin procession at Dhaka University, demanding a ban on the political activities of the Awami League, Jatiya Party and other fascist forces.

The cortege titled ‘Fascism’s Coffin March’ was removed from the university’s TSC area today (November 20).

Participants carried coffins and chanted various anti-fascist slogans.

Bin Yamin Molla, the chief organizer of the students, said, “Those who lost their limbs in the movement will never get them back. Martyrs cannot be brought back. So why should the Awami League return? Why should the Awami League return?” Will the Allied Jatiya Party contest the elections? We won this new Bangladesh at the cost of thousands of lives. But I see that leaders of major parties are trying to rehabilitate the fascist Awami League. “We, the students and the people, will not allow elections to be held with the Awami League.”

He appealed to the advisors to ban both the Awami League and the Jatiya Party in the interest of maintaining the spirit of the movement and the development of the country.

Another key organizer, Ziaur Rahman Zia, said, “Even 100 days after the collapse of fascism, fascists are still on the prowl. They are carrying out various activities and joining the advisory council. People, including students, will unite again to drive them out.”
