Acorn TV has announced the shows that will be available on the AMC-owned streaming service in December 2024. The Acorn TV December 2024 slate adds to the service’s diverse lineup of acclaimed English-language and foreign-language dramas, compelling comedies, documentaries, and more.

The December program includes: Chelsea Detective Season 3 Christmas special, dalgliesh Season 3, Darby and Joan Season 2 and more.

ACORN TV DECEMBER 2024 HIGHLIGHTS

dalgliesh Season 3 (Acorn TV Original Series) – New Season Premieres Monday, December 2; Two Episodes Airing Every Monday Until the Season Finale on December 16
Bertie Carvel (The Crown, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell) reprises his role as the enigmatic titular investigator in the film, based on the three novels of PD James’ best-selling murder mystery series “Adam Dalgliesh Mystery.”

Season 3 consists of three different mysteries, each two episodes long; It is set on the brink of Margaret Thatcher’s victory in 1979 and sees Commander Adam Dalgliesh (Carvel) tackle three highly sensitive cases from a remote seminary already mired in scandal. A wealthy family is under political attack and there are multiple murders at a nuclear power plant.

Chelsea Detective Season 3 (Acorn TV Original Series) – Christmas Special Premieres Monday, December 16
Former pop star and one-time tabloid darling Chloe Carmichael is found dead in her Chelsea mansion in the days before Christmas. They first suspect a drug overdose, but forensics soon determine that Chloe drowned in the bathroom.

Max and his team must contend with a number of potential suspects, including Max’s tough manager, a conniving journalist and a Conservative MP. Each of them has a secret that ties them to Chloe, but who killed her?

Darby and Joan Season 2 (Acorn TV Original Series) – Two-Episode Premiere Monday, December 30; New Episodes Every Monday Until the Season Finale on January 27
In the second season, Jack (Bryan Brown, Cocktail) and Joan (Greta Scacchi, Broken Trail) are on the hunt for the one person Jack believes can uncover the truth about his mysterious past.
