Wisconsin police arrest suspect allegedly involved in Friday night stabbing

WATERTOWN, Wisconsin (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with a stabbing that occurred Friday night.

According to one statementOfficers with the Watertown Police Department responded to the 600 block of Western Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. on November 18, 2024, for a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers located a 39-year-old from Watertown who appeared to have been stabbed, and multiple witnesses were providing assistance. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, the statement said. His condition is currently stable.

Following the stabbing, the Watertown Police Department launched an extensive investigation. As the investigation progressed, detectives developed information that led them to a residence in Watertown.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, officers located and arrested a 34-year-old man at a home in the 400 block of Clyman Street in Watertown.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Jail. Although he has not been formally charged, the Watertown Police Department has referred several charges to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, the statement says.

Some of the charges mentioned include attempted first-degree premeditated murder, aggravated battery with intent to cause great bodily harm, and first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

At this time, the Watertown Police Department believes this incident is isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
