14-year-old accused of robbery-related shooting that left the teenager seriously injured

BALTIMORE, MD — A 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder in connection with a shooting in Baltimore’s Central District that critically injured a 15-year-old boy.

The shooting occurred around 3:22 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, when officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 400 block of North Caroline Street. Police found the victim, a 15-year-old boy, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 500 block of North Caroline Street. The man was transported to a nearby hospital and his condition was stated to be critical.

Central District detectives determined the attack stemmed from an attempted robbery. The 14-year-old suspect surrendered to the Central Regional Police Station on Saturday, November 16. He was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder.

While the victim continues his treatment at the hospital, the authorities continue their investigation into the incident.
