Two men were killed and a woman clinging to life by a knife-wielding maniac on an “unprovoked” random stabbing spree in Manhattan on Monday morning, Mayor Eric Adams and police said.

NYPD Chief of Detectives Joe Kenny said the allegedly insane man — a 51-year-old homeless man with eight prior arrests — was identified and captured by cops with the help of a good Samaritan taxi driver.

Police have no other suspects, Adams said at Monday afternoon’s briefing.

“Today, we have three innocent New Yorkers living their lives who were victims of a horrific, horrific attack,” he said.

“This is a clear-cut example of the criminal justice system and mental health system that continues to fail New Yorkers.”

The sickening spree began around 8:20 a.m., when the 51-year-old killer approached a 30-year-old man on West 19th Street near Eighth Avenue and stabbed him in the stomach, police said.

The victim, whom sources identified as a construction worker, was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he died, police said.

Police said the sinister stabber fled toward Ninth Avenue.

About two hours passed before the violent threat moved to East 30th Street near FDR Drive, where he repeatedly stabbed a man in his 60s, police and sources said.

Sources said this man was also taken to the same hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Then, shortly before 11 a.m., the crazy man stabbed a woman in the chest at East 42nd Street and First Avenue near the United Nations building, cops and sources said.

A taxi driver witnessed the attack and followed the suspect until he alerted an NYPD officer, Kenny said.

The woman was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where her condition was stated to be critical.

The stabbings appeared random, Kenny said.
