Sheriff’s Office looking for suspect in Salisbury attack, arrest warrant issued

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect in Saturday’s shooting on North Curlew Road and has issued an arrest warrant.

Here’s what we know now.

The victim is in stable condition but sustains life-threatening injuries

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 500 block of North Curlew Road in Salisbury following a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a female victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies immediately secured the scene and administered life-saving measures until Emergency Medical Services arrived. The victim was transported to TidalHealth where he is currently in stable condition despite life-threatening injuries.

Through a coordinated investigation, deputies and detectives from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division identified the suspect as 32-year-old Salisbury resident Dequan Maurice Bratten. An arrest warrant was issued for Bratten.
