Middletown Man Arrested for Carjacking in New Castle

New Castle, DE – Delaware State Police detained 41-year-old Middletown resident Antoine Carter following a carjacking incident at the Dash-In convenience store.

At approximately 3:34 p.m. Monday, troopers responded to a report of a carjacking at the Dash-In on 154 N. Dupont Highway, New Castle. The investigation revealed that the 37-year-old victim was followed to the parking lot by a friend. The friend, identified as Antoine Carter, allegedly attacked the victim by punching him through the open window of the car and forcibly removing him from the vehicle.

Carter then drove off in the victim’s Chevrolet Impala but soon returned to the Dash-In. When they returned to the scene, troopers took Carter into custody without further incident.

He was transported to Troop 2 and charged with 1st Degree Robbery, a felony. Following his arraignment in Magistrate Court 11, he was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $20,000 secured bail.
