As severe storms hit NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland, residents have been warned of destructive winds and the risk of flash floods

Many states are preparing for 48-hour education heavy thunderstorms Due to heavy rainfall, most of the country is expected to have a rainy spring.
NSW State Emergency Service (SES), residents of the southern parts of the state, the ACT and possibly Sydney Destructive storms are expected.

SES said in a statement today that destructive winds reaching 150 km per hour and heavy rains that could lead to flash floods were on the way.

The worst of the storms are expected to move eastwards tonight, moving across the border towards the coast and parts of Sydney.

Large hail may also fall in some southern areas such as Griffith, Narrendera, Cargelligo Lake, Lockhart and Darlington Point later today.

“You should take time to prepare your homes ahead of the risk of storms tomorrow,” said NSW SES Deputy Commissioner Colin Malone.

“Loose items in your garden can be blown around in high winds and cause property damage and injury to people.”

Malone also warned that winds could uproot trees or break branches and advised people not to park under trees or power lines.

Flash flooding can also pose a risk and drivers are warned to never attempt to cross a flooded road.

Victoria’s northeast and much of Gippsland are also facing devastating winds and heavy rainfall today.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a weather warning for the state, saying a strong cold front is moving across Victoria and could cause storms.

Flash flooding and damaging winds are expected for the state’s northeast.

The same warning has been issued for Tasmania, where the Furneaux Islands and the north-east region are braced for severe weather on Sunday afternoon and into the evening.

The tri-state weather warning follows several days of severe weather in Queensland.

Severe weather ripped through central and southeastern parts of the state on Friday, sending backyard trampolines blown over in Burpengary East and hail pelting Emerald.

“It’s actually a bit unusual that we see these severe storms so frequently,” said Pieter Claassen of the Bureau of Meteorology.

“What we’re seeing is definitely severe storm thresholds being exceeded.”

Queensland is also bracing for more storms and rain over the next few days.
