Stafford, VA – A disturbance involving teens escalated Sunday evening, leading to law enforcement intervention and subsequent charges.

At approximately 4:49 pm on Sunday, deputies were dispatched to Kendrick Court in response to reports of a large-scale brawl involving ten to twenty youths. While some people who arrived at the scene dispersed, deputies tried to determine the situation with those who remained at the scene.

An agitated return of both teenagers and adults during the investigation led deputies to detain those involved to prevent further controversy. During efforts to de-escalate tensions, a teenager attacked a member of parliament before the situation calmed down. Deputies learned the real reason they were sent to Kendrick Court.

The investigation revealed that two teenagers had fought earlier in the day, which led to the 19-year-old later confronting the other in the presence of a family member. This conflict led to further violence; He attacked a 19-year-old boy and used a Stanley Cup and a pepper spray bottle.

Charges against the 19-year-old include two counts of assault and battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
