Halton police are investigating a “targeted” attack that left a man seriously injured in Oakville on Saturday morning.

The incident took place in front of a residence near W.Avecrest Avenue and Creek Path Boulevard just before 10:30 a.m.

Police say a man drove to the home and confronted a resident.

“During the subsequent interaction, the victim suffered a gunshot wound. The attacker fled in a waiting vehicle immediately after being shot.” police said in a press release Saturday afternoon.

The injured, who were seriously but not life-threatening, were taken to hospital.

Police only identified the suspect as a male who was last seen wearing dark clothing and a mask covering the lower part of his face.

Meanwhile, it is stated that the suspect vehicle is a white compact-style SUV. Investigators did not determine the make, model or license plate of the vehicle.

“This victim appears to have been targeted during this attack,” police said.
