A man died in a fire at his house in ward 2 of Phidim Municipality in Panchthar.

Jaya Prakash Rai suffered serious burns while trying to remove her belongings from her house in a fire that broke out on Tuesday afternoon. He died from his injuries on Wednesday.

Rai was first treated at Ganesh Man Singh Hospital in Phidim, then transferred to B&C Hospital in Jhapa before being taken to the Nepal Cleft and Burn Center in Kirtipur.

According to the family, he died around 01:00 on Wednesday.
