35 kilos of cocaine worth $400 thousand were seized by Border Patrol Agents

PROGRESO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agents at the Progreso Port of Entry seized 35 kilos of cocaine hidden inside a vehicle.

According to CBP, on November 11, 2013, the Dodge was referred for a second inspection. Inside the vehicle, CBP discovered 14 packages containing 35 pounds of alleged cocaine with an estimated street value of $468,302.

“Our front-line officers continue to work diligently to protect our communities through narcotics interdiction combined with the effective use of technology,” said Progreso Port of Entry Port Director Walter Weaver. “A seizure like this demonstrates the importance and necessity of our ongoing border security mission.”

CBP said the drugs and vehicle were seized.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) is continuing the investigation.
