Battle has 21 points as No. 4 Gonzaga defeats UMass Lowell 113-54

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Khalif Battle scored 21 points, including 4-for-4 on 3-pointers, and No. 4 Gonzaga beat UMass Lowell 113-54 on Friday night.

Nolan Hickman scored 14 points and shot 4-for-5 from 3-point range for the Zags, who were unbeaten in three games for the first time since the 2021-22 season.

Braden Huff and Ryan Nembhard had 13 points each, and Dusty Stromer and Graham Ike had 11 points each.

River Hawks (2-1) continued their lead with 10 points from Quinton Mincey.

The Zags took a 21-7 lead with an 11-0 run in the first five minutes. The combination of Hickman and Battle produced 22 points in the first half, and Gonzaga led 49-27 at halftime.

Battle hit a pair of 3-pointers on Gonzaga’s first two possessions after the break. The Zags increased their lead to 40 points before the halfway point of the half.
