Woman accused of reckless homicide leaves the scene of fatal crash in Mountain Brook

MOUNTAIN BROOK, Ala. (WBRC) – A woman was arrested on multiple charges following a fatal crash in Mountain Brook on October 12.

On Saturday, October 12, at 1:30 p.m., Mountain Brook Police say they responded to an injury vehicle accident that occurred in the 3900 block of Montclair Road. When MBP arrived on scene, they found a single-vehicle crash in which the driver of the vehicle, 33-year-old Robert Ashley May, had been ejected. May died a short time later at UAB Hospital.

Authorities initially believed this was a single-vehicle crash, but after interviews with witnesses at the scene of the crash, it was revealed that a second vehicle was involved and left the scene before officers arrived.

Authorities later determined that the vehicle that left the scene of the accident was traveling at a high speed and contributed to the accident by driving recklessly.

After attempting to locate the driver and second vehicle, MBP obtained an arrest warrant and charged Hannah Gray Williams, 30, with reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.
