Volta and Ahafo Regions 2024 Election Ballot Papers Will Be Reprinted Due to Serial Number Errors | Elections

Following errors in the serial numbers of ballot papers for the Volta and Ahafo regions for the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections, the Electoral Commission (EC) decided to reprint all ballot papers for the two regions.

The ballot papers have not yet been distributed to the regions and are waiting at the printing house. Therefore they need to be destroyed.

New printing houses, Mass and Actual Advertisements, were commissioned to reprint the ballot papers.

This was announced at an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Friday, November 15, where the EC announced plans to reprint both presidential and parliamentary ballot papers for the two affected regions, Volta and Ahafo.

Announcing this at the IPAC meeting, Mr. Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman of Electoral Commission Operations, explained that the error in the serial numbers affected the integrity of the ballot papers.

He said some concerns were expressed about the serialization of ballot papers for the Ahafo and Volta Regions, following which the decision was taken to reprint the ballot papers.

“While the printing of ballot papers has decreased very well, the challenge for the Commission has been the serialization of the numbers on the ballot papers,” he said.

“The Commission took serious action to correct the flaws. And he sent teams to the printing house to correct the anomalies.

“The Commission decided to recall the ballot papers belonging to the Ahafo and Volta regions. The commission decided that the two ballot papers for the presidency and the parliament would be printed by Buck and Acts Commercials.”
