Odin man released from hospital after deer hunting accident

A bow deer hunter who left his 16- to 18-foot-tall deer stand for a day in rural Iuka fell to the ground as he stepped off the platform to get to the ground.

Iuka Firefighters, Joint Medical Response and Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to assist Nick Lynch of Odin. The incident happened on Foster Road northeast of Iuka.

Lynch was able to call 911 for help. He was flown from the scene to St. Petersburg for treatment. He was taken to St. Louis hospital.

Lynch was released early Friday morning. In the fall, he suffered a broken wrist and broken nose.

The fall occurred around five in the afternoon on Thursday.
