Albany Police are investigating the death of a man outside the library on Washington Avenue on Thursday.

Officers responded to a report of a person downstairs around 1:20 pm on Thursday. They found a 53-year-old man unresponsive. Police reported that the person was treated at the scene and died.

Investigators do not believe the death was criminal in nature. There was a possible overdose, but according to police this cannot be confirmed until an autopsy is performed.
