Dehradun Car Accident: At least six students were killed and another was seriously injured when their vehicle collided with a truck in Dehradun in the early hours of Tuesday. The car turned into scrap due to the impact of the collision. The accident took place at ONGC Chowk around 01.30 am. Circle Officer (City) Neeraj Semwal said the car hit the truck from behind and six people died on the spot.

According to media reports, a group of seven friends were returning from a party that night and were drunk. According to an India Today report, it is believed that the students’ Innova was competing with a BMW before the collision occurred. A video revealing the chilling details of the incident has emerged on social media. As seen in the video, the impact of the collision was so strong that the roof of the Toyota Innova was torn off and twisted, NDTV reported.

After the terrible incident, two passengers were decapitated due to the impact. It was revealed in the footage that the head of one of the victims was severed, and the body of another person was seen twisted in the crushed car. According to the NDTV report, the accident was so severe that some other body parts of the victims were also scattered on the road.

Prime Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who visited Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag, expressed grief for those who lost their lives in the accident.

“The news that 6 young people lost their lives in a road accident in Dehradun is extremely heartbreaking. I pray to God to give place to the souls of the deceased at his holy feet and to give the bereaved families the strength to bear this great pain.” he said.

The names of the dead students were stated as Kunal Kukreja (23), Atul Agrawal (24), Rishabh Jain (24), Navya Goel (23), Kamakshi (20) and Guneet (19). All of them were from Uttarakhand’s Dehradun, except Kukreja, who hailed from Himachal Pradesh. The seventh resident, Siddhesh Agrawal (25), was admitted to Synergy Hospital in the city and his condition is critical, he said.
