2 injured in two-vehicle crash in Marquette County

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) – A 92-year-old Marquette man is in stable condition and his 96-year-old passenger was seriously injured in a two-car crash Thursday evening.

At approximately 7:42 p.m., officers from the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene on US-41 West near County Road Headquarters and Walmart in Marquette County. A 25-year-old Ishpeming woman was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck and a 92-year-old Marquette man was driving a Cadillac SRX when both vehicles crashed into each other at the intersection, sending the Cadillac into the ditch.

The driver and passenger of the pickup truck escaped uninjured. Both occupants of the Cadillac were transported to UPHS-Marquette for treatment. While no names have been disclosed, the investigation into the accident, where drugs are believed to have been a factor in the incident, continues.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Michigan State Police, Marquette Township Fire Department, Marquette Township EMS, UPHS-Marquette EMS and Marquette Detailing.
