Booth ranks among national leaders in running distance

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Bishop Neumann running back Conor Booth is posting video game-like numbers in his senior season. Entering Friday’s semifinals, Booth ranked second nationally in rushing with 2,864 yards. The record-setting all-state player averaged more than 12 yards per carry and had 49 rushing touchdowns. He broke the C2 Class rushing TD record, beating the entire class mark by three times.

Bishop Neumann head coach Jordan Roberts said Booth has the perfect blend of strength, vision and speed. He describes Booth as a highly motivated leader who was difficult to handle. The 6-foot-5 running back has made several standout runs this season.

Booth is a 3-star recruit who is committed to Nebraska. He plans to play both football and baseball with the Huskers.

Bishop Neumann will face Battle Creek in the Class C2 semifinals on Friday. This game would be Booth’s last game at Wayne Reeves Field. He said he hopes to finish his prep career at Memorial Stadium, site of the NSAA state championships.

Conor Booth and Bishop Neumann are just one win away from the Cavaliers heading to Memorial Stadium.
