American Airlines passenger shares photos of man ‘on my lap’ in recliner seat complaint

Most airplane seats to have ability to lean for a relaxing flying experience, but one man shared how it happened another passenger seat may have gone too far.

One last post On X/Twitter, under the username @av_cova, the man posted a photo of himself leaning back on the seat in front of him, so much so that his knees touched the top of the seat. In his post, he revealed that he was sitting in first class. American Airlines Flight.

In the thread, the man explained that he had limited access to move around the cabin. He claimed that he was able to move this far back because the seat was broken.

“I can’t use my tray table and I have no way of getting up. I’m at 3C, so 2C is clearly broken. AA1851. Fix this before someone else spends a fortune on first class and fucks @AmericanAir,” the post read.

“He shrugged; simply ‘This is an old plane; “Some of these seats are worn out,” he said. “No matter how I positioned myself, the seat was still above my knees. The gentleman sitting in front of me was very understanding, but he could not lock the seat forward because it was inoperable.”

American Airlines later responded to the passenger’s complaint, commenting under his post apologizing for the disturbing experience.

“It is always our goal to keep our aircraft in first-class condition” wrote. “We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will forward this to the Maintenance team for review. Again, we apologize.”

But the man was still not satisfied with the apology: “Maintenance will not review the money I wasted…”

talk with FoxThe social media user explained that he spent an extra $500 on a premium seat specifically for the extra legroom, which was not possible due to the seat malfunction.

This isn’t the first time someone has complained about their seat on a flight. In September, Erin Rempel returned to TikTok to share a video. experience in the middle seat of the plane.

The clip showed him sitting in the middle seat, with two men on either side of him with his legs stretched out far enough that he appeared to be tucked into his seat. The text on the video’s screen simply reads: “Female rage.”

“Why would anyone need that much space??? I tried to move him but he wouldn’t,” he wrote in the caption of his video.

Her TikTok has racked up more than 20 million views, and many people expressed in the comments that they were as angry as Rempel. Some people even dubbed the show “male spread” – when a man stretches his legs in a public seating area, often taking an extra seat or invading others’ space while doing so.

“Girl, you need to say something. There is no need to exaggerate so much, if you are nervous, call the flight attendant,” he commented.
