Greene Turtle, a sports bar and grill, will open Friday at the College Park Mall, according to the restaurant’s Instagram post.

The restaurant chain, which has 33 locations on the East Coast, will open where Jason’s Deli was previously located.

Customers can expect to find classic American favorites like burgers and sandwiches, as well as a wide variety of specialty cocktails, according to the restaurant’s online menu.

According to Greene Turtle’s Instagram post, the restaurant’s grand opening party will begin Friday at 9 p.m. and will feature music by PB&J Sounds, a local DJ group.

The post stated that the restaurant will host a party called Club Turtle on Saturday nights for the remainder of the semester.

Admission to both inaugural events will be free, but both parties will be limited to those who are at least 21 years old and have a valid ID, the post noted.

Michael Williams, College Park’s economic development director, told The Diamondback in September that he hopes the restaurant will not only serve as a “college bar,” but will also appeal to College Park residents and families in the area.
