IRVING, Texas – 58-year-old Mike Tyson looked at 27-year-old Jake Paul Irving ahead of the highly anticipated boxing match between the two on Wednesday night.

According to Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, the fighter was treated for a stomach ulcer and cleared to fight.

The bout will consist of eight rounds instead of 10 or 12, rounds will be two minutes instead of three, and there will be heavier gloves designed to reduce the force of punches.

“I’m looking forward to fighting,” Tyson said.

Wearing a diamond-studded ear defender, Paul prodded the former heavyweight about his infamous ear-biting incident with Evander Holyfield in 1997.

“I’m not afraid of anybody, so I want it to be that old, wild Mike,” Paul said.

Tyson was 50-6 with 44 knockouts in professional fights before retiring 19 years ago. Tyson fought Roy Jones Jr. at an exhibition four years ago. He fought with and it ended in a draw.

Paul has a record of 10-1 with 7 knockouts during his time as a boxer.

The social media star says his leap from YouTube to the ring has brought new energy to boxing.

“I brought great excitement to the sport, knocking people out on the biggest platforms possible, going up against the biggest names,” Paul said.

Tyson didn’t say much at the press conference, but he did make a prediction.

“I’m not losing,” Tyson told the crowd.

According to BetMGM sportsbook, Paul is the betting favorite.
