ANAHEIM, Calif. — A party was underway at Disneyland on Wednesday as the park prepared to open its newest attraction. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

The Journey is based on the 2009 animated film “The Princess and the Frog.”

Among those present for the celebration were the film’s stars, including Jenifer Lewis and Anika Noni Rose, who also provided sound for the event.

“This is historic,” Lewis said. “I mean, this is the first African-American themed ride in the parks, and we’re proud of that. We love that it’s set in New Orleans.”

The ride officially opens to the public in the park’s Critter Country on Friday. Drivers are warned to expect to get wet while driving.

“It’s been remarkable to see this renaissance for Tiana and ‘The Princess and the Frog’ over the past 15 years,” Rose said.
