MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Video submitted by a FOX10 News viewer shows Mobile Fire Rescue crews battling a ship fire near the Cochrane-Africatown Bridge this morning.

Units including Fire Boat 2 were dispatched around 11:31 a.m., MFRD said. Officials said the fire started in an open barge containing crushed cars. Smoke was coming out of a small part of the barge.

Tugboats moved the barge away from other barges. Water was then sprayed on the barge to extinguish the fire. MFRD said the barge should be moved to a location where its contents could be unloaded.
