JACKSON, Miss. (WTOK) – A Meridian woman has pleaded guilty to stealing Social Security benefits totaling $25,364 meant for two elderly victims.

Taruars Santae Grace, 46, admitted to stealing Social Security Administration retirement benefits for two elderly victims, according to court documents.

Grace transferred the money to bank accounts under her control. He was indicted by a federal grand jury in August 2024. He was indicted Wednesday in Jackson on charges of theft of government funds.

Grace is scheduled to be sentenced on February 11, 2025, and faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. A federal district court judge will decide any sentence, taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal factors.
