Elko woman arrested for allegedly stabbing man walking her dog

ELKO, Nev. (KOLO) – An Elko woman was arrested after police say she stabbed a man walking his dog.

Shelly Carabello, 59, was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted murder.

Officers from the Elko Police Department were called to the 600 block of Cedar Street, where Carabello allegedly attacked the man after accusing him of raping her for years.

The Elko Police Department said Carabello was known to their department and was believed to be mentally impaired before the alleged stabbing.

Carabello was booked into the Elko County jail on the aforementioned charge and bail was set at $100,000.

The injured, whose life was not in danger, was taken to the hospital.
