HOUSTON – One person was arrested and detained in connection with two incidents sexual assaults The Houston Police Department announced Wednesday that a spate of apartment burglaries and thefts have occurred in the past three months.

Denzeill Sneed, 29, was arrested Wednesday at Acres Homes, less than two miles from where the attacks occurred.

Sneed, who was recently released from parole in September for aggravated robbery and evading arrest, now faces burglary and intent to commit sexual assault on two counts of assault.

According to investigators, the first incident occurred on August 14, while the most recent attack took place on Friday, November 8.

He said the woman left her home briefly to take her child to the bus stop and when she returned, the man police believe was Sneed was inside. The woman said she thought Sneed was watching her.

Investigators said Sneed hid behind the woman’s door and attacked her before leaving about an hour later.

During Wednesday’s HPD briefing, investigators said they initially believed Sneed was behind three more attacks in the neighborhood in October, but now believe a second suspect may be at large.

“Since we released surveillance video and photographs of these incidents last Friday, with the help of our partners at the FBI, we have uncovered evidence pointing to the possibility of a second suspect in three incidents that occurred in October,” said HPD Commander Elizabeth Lorenzana. during the press conference.

All of the victims in the five total attacks were Hispanic women, but Lorenzana said they were not sure if the suspects were targeting the Latino community but considered it a possibility.
