The “Jack Ryan” star was humble and funny about the honor.

“Actually, instant fainting. Zero thought,” he told the magazine. “Maybe I’m being bullied. ‘Is this the day I’m going to be asked to be the Sexiest Man Alive?’ But still, that was the day you guys really set the bar high for me.”

The Office alum, 45, said that his wife of 14 years, actress Emily Blunt, 41, was “so excited” when she heard the big news: “I was so happy to tell her.”

She joked that if her husband took the crown, he would wallpaper their house.

“Do we see this on camera? Because it’s like a binding contract, I guess,” she said. “My kids will love it, it won’t be weird at all.”
