AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – James Brown Türkiye giveaway is an indispensable part of our community.

Families in need can sign up to receive a free turkey on Thanksgiving.

We talked to the late singer’s daughter, Deanna Brown, about why her father started this.

“It was something he wanted to start because he grew up poor, he didn’t forget where he came from, so after he was blessed by God to be able to pay it forward and help others, he started to realize that you know not everyone can afford a turkey,” Brown says.

She also says there are boxes with all the supplies from the Golden Harvest Food Bank.

This Saturday is the last day to register at May Park from 9am to 11am.

You must bring your ID along with your utility bill or rental agreement.

Türkiye delivery will be at May Park on November 25 at 8 am.
