Kasaragod: A woman suffocated to death after her shawl got tangled in a coconut grinding machine in Kasaragod on Wednesday. Deceased Maimoona (47) was a native of Moosodi near Uppala in Mangalpady grama panchayat.

Panchayat member Mohammed Hussain A. said Maimoona was found dead with her shawl tangled in the machine while she was grating coconut in the kitchen. Her husband AA Ibrahim works in a retail store in Pune. He said the couple had three surviving children, two of whom were at school.

On July 22, 58-year-old Nafeesa from Pervad in neighboring Kumbla panchayat died in a similar manner while grating a coconut.
