EA boss Andrew Wilson reportedly in the running for Disney’s top job

Boss of EA – publisher of EA Sports FC, Battlefield, sims and Dragon Age are reportedly slated to replace Disney CEO Bob Iger.

A new report by Wall StreetJournal He notes that EA CEO Andrew Wilson is among the top candidates being considered as a long-term replacement for Iger, who currently oversees all of Disney.

Iger is expected to leave Disney in 2026 after leading the company for more than 15 years. During his tenure, the firm acquired most of Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and 21st Century Fox, launched Disney+ and Fortnite maker signs $1.5 billion deal with Epic Games.

Australian-born Wilson, meanwhile, has spent 24 years at EA to date and is the company’s most prominent face, although the publisher’s press conferences are less frequent these days. Wilson became CEO of EA in 2013. controversial resignation of John Riccitiello.

Wilson’s time at EA includes years as boss of the FIFA franchise and subsequently the entire EA Sports; the company made huge revenues from Ultimate Team and eventually signed divorce papers with FIFA. Last year, Wilson reorganized EA into two separate operations (EA Sports and everything else) under the name EA Entertainment.

Meanwhile, Iger, who will turn 74 in February, is currently serving his second stint at Disney. His first retirement in 2021 lasted just a year, before returning due to the firing of his successor, Bob Chapek.
