On Oct. 27, Chicago police said they found Tracey dead in the South Loop high-rise apartment building in the 1200 block of South Prairie Avenue, where her husband lived.

Investigators told Tracey’s family that she “fell approximately 24 stories before landing at the bottom of the stairwell,” according to court documents. Judging by the height of the fall, the deceased’s body was shattered into pieces and his foot was torn off from him. body.”

Investigators detained and questioned Tracey’s husband for two days but released him without charge. That’s why ABC7 isn’t naming him.

Court documents show Tracey’s documented history of allegations of abuse against her husband.

In October last year, Tracey applied for a protection order, saying: “I fear further abuse.”

Court records show that earlier this year, Tracey’s husband was charged with multiple felonies, including domestic violence, in Michigan’s Berrien County, where Tracey lives.

A judge in Michigan on Tuesday granted Andrew and Monica Tracey custody of their daughter’s body. “The family will continue to fight for Caitlin until she is brought to rest with the respect and dignity she deserves,” the parents’ attorney said.

What happened in the high-rise before Tracey was found dead is still the subject of an open death investigation.
