Camron RogersThe 25-year-old man pleaded guilty in Sarpy County District Court to involuntary manslaughter and removal/concealment/abandonment of a dead human corpse; Both were felonies.

As part of the plea agreement, charges of first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence were dismissed with prejudice. This means these payments cannot be recharged.

Rogers was arrested in April 2023 for tampering with evidence in the death of 56-year-old Patrick Weber of Kearney.

According to an arrest affidavit, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of human remains in the area of 66th Street and Rainwood Road on March 13, 2023.

An autopsy confirmed the body matched Weber, who was reported missing to Kearney Police on March 5, 2023.

A day later, a license plate reader took a photo of Weber’s car near an apartment complex near 48th Street and Giles Road in Bellevue.

Kearney Police were contacted and Bellevue Police were advised not to tow the car.

Investigators obtained financial records from a bank statement that noted an attempted Cash App transaction as well as two attempted Instacart transactions on March 2 and March 11. The total of these attempts was $437.79.

Subpoenas were issued for both Cash App and Instacart; where investigators learned that the accounts were created with information from Weber as well as information tied to the address where Weber’s vehicle was located.

Court records revealed that the IP address belonged to Rogers.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at the Bellevue apartment on April 13, 2023. The affidavit reveals that items belonging to Weber, including his cell phone and credit card, were found inside. Authorities also found a small bag of meth.

Rogers was taken into custody for controlled substance and evidence tampering, but charges were later added.
