Gather around: It’s Steelers week

last thursday night

A timely turnover by Ravens cornerback Marlon Humprehey started a heroic comeback for the ages by Lamar Jackson and the Ravens against the Bengals last Thursday.

MV3 candidate completed 25/33, 290 passing yards (323 all-purpose yards), 4 touchdowns.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow also lost his mind, going 34/56 for 428 passing yards and 4 touchdowns.

Ja’Marr Chase is probably still running circles around the Ravens’ secondary. The WR had 11 receptions for 264 yards and 3 TDs on Thursday night.

Somehow, thanks to a few key stops on defense and a spell of offense, the Ravens pulled off the win, making it 7-3.

The question asked each week is, “Will this be the week Raven Secondary can fix its communication problems?”

One of the worst defenses in the NFL at giving up explosive plays.

But at least there may be some light at the end of the tunnel this week.

According to published draft scout Spencer Schultz, Russell Wilson has struggled against zone coverage this season. This Ravens defense under Zach Orr can’t get enough of the playing field. This could be a good sign.

To quote B Rabbit from 8 Mile, “If something’s going to happen…it needs to happen now.”

Looking Forward

The road never gets easier. The next three games will be against the Steelers, Chargers and Eagles.

It looks like the good old AFC North rivalry is back on track. The Steelers have not one but two new quarterbacks. Pittsburgh’s QB 1, Russell Wilson, looks like a throwback to his days in Seattle.

He isn’t asked to do too much, as the Black-and-White roster is filled with not only familiar faces like George Pickens, but also new names like WR Mike Williams and LB Preston Smith.

Wilson has 6 touchdowns and 1 interception in his last three games. The 13-year veteran football player only takes shots when he has to and keeps the ball out of danger.

Ideally, Lamar and the offense can continue to score a lot of goals with the hope that the defense can limit explosive plays this Sunday.

The Ravens are also one of many fans’ “Black Magic of the Steelers

Last year, when the Ravens played the Steelers on Oct. 8, their wide receivers had no drops entering the game. However, the Ravens’ receivers dropped the ball a total of 5 times, which sealed their fate.

Nelson Aghlor threw a 44-yard touchdown pass. Mark Andrews threw a touchdown pass. Rashod Bateman threw a touchdown pass.

As an aside, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has gotten the best of Harbaugh lately. The Steelers have won seven of the last eight meetings between these two teams.

He was able to keep these matches close or win them with less talent. This year is different because these teams are more evenly matched than in past seasons.
