BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Birmingham Police are investigating after a man was shot Tuesday evening.

Northern Precinct officers responded to the 3100 block of 26th Street North around 7:10 p.m., where they discovered a single-vehicle collision. Police found a person with a gunshot wound in the vehicle.

The injured person was taken to UAB Hospital for treatment. Police say they are unaware of their current situation.

Officers believe the victim was shot in the 3400 Block of 26th Street North. The victim then drove several blocks before crashing near the Family Dollar in the 3100 Block.
