LCA Eagles win Second Consecutive KCAA Tip Off Classic Championship

COLUMBIA, Ky. (WBKO) – The Legacy Christian Academy Eagles won their second straight Boys Varsity KCAA Tip Off Classic Basketball Tournament.

The Eagles won three straight in two days at Lindsey Wilson College, beating Summit Christian Academy, Bethel Christian Academy and Galilean Christian Academy to win the title.

LCA faced Summit Christian Academy in the opening round and won 47-38. The Eagles won the semifinal match against Bethel Christian Academy 66-52, setting up a rematch of last year’s final against Galilean Christian Academy. The Eagles regained their championship by defeating Galilean 64-40.

The Eagles were led by senior guard Cole Phillips, who averaged 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game throughout the tournament. Senior center Trace Stivers contributed significantly on both ends of the floor, averaging 6 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks per game. Freshman guard Mason Phillips also made a strong impact, averaging 11 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists per game.

Trace Stivers and Mason Phillips were named to the All-Tournament Team, while Cole Phillips was named Tournament MVP.
