Lexington residents raise concerns about pedestrian safety along widely traveled road

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Lexington police are conducting an investigation fatal collision Starting from Monday evening.

“I can only imagine how the driver felt when he hit that person, then I started thinking about both of their families and how their lives were affected,” Kent said.

Over the years, he said, he has thought about potential solutions, such as putting more crosswalks along the road or asking pedestrians to wear brighter clothing.

“Watching a human body was traumatic. “It was kind of like watching a movie,” said Brian Lundborg, owner of AAMCO Transmissions.

Lundborg said he once saw a woman get hit by a vehicle on Winchester Road.

“He was thrown probably about 30 maybe 40 feet away, laid out on the road for a short time, the ambulance had not arrived, and at one point he got up and walked away,” Lundborg said. “You feel for the people involved in this. “You wonder if something can be done.”
