Deadly crash in Delaware County claims two lives

TOWN OF WALTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) — A two-car crash on State Route 10 in Walton on Monday left two people dead and a third person hospitalized with serious injuries, according to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers responded to initial reports that two people were trapped in their vehicle and a third person was thrown from one of the cars following a crash on Monday, November 11. When emergency medical personnel arrived on scene, they located 48-year-old Lawrence Foster. and Kaelyn Foster, 24, both of Walton, died at the scene.

Grace Bartolillo, 44, of Downsville, was flown by Lifenet to Albany Medical Center for “serious physical injuries,” according to DCSO. State Highway 10 was closed for several hours following the crash as a crash reconstruction investigation was conducted.

DCSO was assisted at the scene by members of the Village of Walton Police Department, New York State Police, Walton Fire Department, Walton EMS, Delhi Fire Department, Ambulnz Mobile Medical Services, Life Net 7-8, Delaware County Ambulance, Delaware. County Emergency Services and New York State Department of Transportation.

The investigation is still ongoing.
