The exterior of the cabin is covered in reflective gold glass, giving the house a distinctive look that plays and changes with the brightness of sunlight throughout the day, with sunrise and sunset providing the most striking effects. But regardless of the light, it is a thin, softer gold that seems to radiate on its own.

“Glass is not as dense as gold; it’s not like Mandalay Bay,” Jaak says, referring to Las Vegas’ iconic hotel. “When you do something with gold, you can easily overdo it. It can be very bright.”

Equipped with a small seating area, the private space feels like opening up to the magnificence of nature.

While the exterior is absolutely stunning, the interior features a modern design with carefully placed gold touches, created in partnership with British hardware and lighting design company Buster & Punch. There are golden distressings on the oak wall panels; handmade gold-edged wall and ceiling design; gold Buster & Punch design electrical outlets, light switches and cabinet handles; and gold Buster & Punch hanging bedside lamps.

Although most furnishings are not included, there is a custom-made built-in king bed with ambient LED lighting and a leather headboard, two bedside tables and a closet, as well as a Biano Imeprale granite kitchenette with deep red cabinetry. and quartz countertops, refrigerator, gold sink and cocktail mixer.

The transom cabins are 283 square meters (including open deck space).

There is a stylishly designed bathroom.

As well as a gold wall mounted shower head.

The ÖÖD Golden House prefabricated unit is priced at $250,000. And while it’s not real gold, it comes with a 1.5-ounce, 14-karat gold coin, each numbered 1 through 79. “This is for people to experience something extremely rare,” says Jaak. “It definitely falls into the OMG category.”
