JOELTON, Tenn. (WSMV) – A woman was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound in Joelton early Tuesday morning, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

Officers were dispatched to a home in the 4000 block of Little Marrowbone Road around 4 a.m. and found a woman with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center for treatment, but MNPD said he is expected to recover.

A man was also in the home when officers arrived and reportedly had a visible laceration over his eye. Detectives determined the two were in a relationship and got into a physical fight before the shooting.

The man was also hospitalized for his injuries and remains in custody, according to MNPD.
