‘Why is a small scratch acceptable?’: Netizens are furious after a minor scratch was caught on dashcam during road rage in Bengaluru

A dashcam video showing a road rage incident in Bengaluru has gone viral and sparked widespread interest. In the footage, a scooter driver can be seen accidentally scraping the side of the car while trying to pass through a narrow gap between the i20 car and the road divider.

This minor collision infuriated the driver and led to a heated argument between the two men on the busy street. The situation quickly escalates, disrupting traffic and attracting curious onlookers.

A social media post about the incident criticized the scooter driver for lacking “spatial awareness” and highlighted the need to manage frustration on Bengaluru’s congested roads. “Another example of road rage has emerged in Bengaluru, reminding us of the challenges on the streets of our city. In this case, the incident was triggered by a scooter rider who was clearly at fault due to poor spatial awareness. “The driver appeared unaware of the surroundings and was driving recklessly through traffic.”

“But the behavior of the i20 driver also raises questions. If a small scratch on your vehicle can cause this level of frustration, it may be wiser to stay off the roads or find alternative ways of dealing with such situations. Road rage is exacerbated. “It creates tension and creates unnecessary risks for everyone involved. Let’s not forget that patience and calm can go a long way in ensuring safe and smooth traffic flow in our vibrant city,” he added.

“Please provide the exact location of the incident,” responded the Bengaluru City Police.

“Why is a small scratch acceptable? Should I do this to your car now? Road rage is wrong, but only when it is unprovoked and not the other party’s fault. If not then they are liable to pay for it somehow,” one X user responded.

But another said: “While I can understand the frustration of the person in the car, he was being very aggressive.”

More such incidents are taking place on the congested roads of Bengaluru, fueling the debate on safe driving. Many passengers are also demanding better public awareness of road etiquette.
