VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (WSVN) — A Volusia County kayaker was rescued after passing out and falling into the Intracoastal Waterway.

A friend of the kayaker saved the man from drowning and called for help, according to the sheriff’s office.

A Marine unit loaded the unresponsive kayaker and brought him to shore.

Firefighters then took the victim to a nearby hospital. Here, deputies said his pulse had improved and he was recovering.
