‘The important thing is to score goals’

Narcís Pèlach gave the Stoke City team time to rest and recover during the international break. The Potters’ head coach hopes this will help his players get fit again and into their next Championship game, away at QPR in 11 days.

You tell us your thoughts on how Pèlach has adapted to the role after replacing Steven Schumacher in September.

Steve – Now we have a manager who gives a halftime speech and the team responds. Things are getting better in the second half due to a tactical change. I feel more confident with Pèlach in charge. He has a system and whether we win, lose or draw, we will move forward.

Ian -We seem to enjoy playing football and our defense is improving, but the most important thing is that we are scoring goals.

Peter – I think the head coach is doing a great job and knows he needs to bring in a defender or two in January. A right back, a left back.

Gordon – Good results but we still struggle to maintain possession in midfield and front wing, which prevents us from gaining any real momentum. When we give the ball away, there is a lot of pressure on the defense. No other team plays the way Stoke do.

Will – It’s too early to judge. Stoke’s last managers have all enjoyed short spells of success lasting three or four games. If Stoke are in the top 10 at the start of next year it will be time for optimism.
