ROCK HILL, S.C. – A death investigation is ongoing after Rock Hill Police found a dead woman at a home on Cauthen Street on Saturday.

Officers were responding to a welfare check on a 53-year-old woman.

Police were unable to enter the home until a contractor with access to the home arrived, according to a press release.

Officers called the Criminal Investigation Division, Forensic Services Division and the York County Coroner’s Office because they believed someone may have attacked the woman.

There is no statement yet on how the woman died.
